Training & Developing Elders

Here’s a great post that deals with one approach to training and developing Elders in the church. Check it out at Light and Heat (here). I’m wondering how other people do this?  If you have a plan (or some thoughts) post a comment and tell me/us about it.  You’ll help inform and shape future pastors – and we need all the help we can get!

  1. For foundational training for elders and other church leaders Sage Bible Institute [] offers a Diploma of Christian Leadership by distance education. It’s flexible and affordable, and can be completed independently or in a group context, but should be augmented with specific context trainings. This at least trains new leaders with essentials in this field and frees up pastors to focus on developing training on areas needed by those elders who are no longer ‘newbies’.
    Hope this info is helpful.
